Bubble keeps shrinking.

I have a green bubble anemone and it is always out and happy in the morning but seems to shrink or shrivel at night. All my parameters are were they need to be. The anemone hosts a pair of true percs who constantly try to coax the anemone out when it does this. Can anyone give me a reason why it does this.

I agree with coral guy -
Mine do the same thing pretty regular too. They inflate/deflate about daily, expelling waste/waste water and re-inflate. As long as it eats, and does not waste away - it'll be ok.

I have true percs but they don't look like that...your fish look like they have little jackets on them.....pretty cool.
Yes anemones shrink and inflate. They are nothing more than a thin membrain filled with water, they have no brain or eyes...they are just a mouth and anus. A true delicate strange creature of the ocean. Be sure to cover your power heads.

Flower - for some reason, I choked on my coffee when you said that they are just mouth and anus.

My BTA reacts the same way. That being said, what are your parameters and lighting for this tank? When you say the clowns try to coax it out, what are they doing exactly? Some clowns can get so rough with an anemone that they end up beating it to death.
By the way, you have two of the nicest perculas I've ever seen! Do you plan on breeding them?

you know btas only expand when they are reaching for light otherwise they won't expand as they don't need to my bta is rarely ever expanded

Thanks guys. When they are trying to coax it of sorts, they seem to kind of nibble at it.
I was also surprised at the black on them when I got them. I have not seen too many pics of other true percs with this coloring. I really need to get some clearer pics of my tank. i will put the girlfriend on that, I obviously can't take pictures.

I have seen pics of the onyx percs my dad actually just bought a small pair of the from the lfs.
I really think that my water is fine, I do my regular water changes and the fish show no sign of bad water. The anemone does not move anymore, it did when i originally got it. It would move into the shade but has stayed put for about a month now.

I really think you just have an issue of it expelling waste and it needing a break from the clowns. I wouldn't be too worried, but definitely monitor it.
As for your clowns, they almost look the non-premium Picasso's.

Not exactly the same, but I don't know, yours just look to "perfect" to be regular Perculas to me.

That is good to know that it is probably expelling waste. I bought the pair as true percs from another website, don't know if I should say which on this website with the bubble. They actually were not a pair when i bought them one came with the anemone and I bought the other separate but at the same time. The immediately paired in the acclimation bucket. I could not believe it but it was a cheap way to get a pair.

Those are some of my favorites. I have always like the naked clowns. They are just so different from all the other types of clowns. Not super expensive either.
