Bubble Tip Anemone Inflating/Deflating

So I purchased a BTA about a week and a half ago. The sales person at the LFS pointed out that it looked like it was about ready to split/in the process of splitting to warn me in case I saw that and started freaking out (I was kind of stoked because it sounded like two BTA's for the price of one!). Anyway, I put it in my tank and it was open and waving around right away. The next morning, however, it had deflated . Since then, it seems to have been going through this cycle where it will be fully inflated a good part of the day, and the next minute I turn around it has deflated again. Is this a natural cycle for anemones, is this a part of the splitting process, or should I be looking for other signs of trauma caused by a fish or something? How would I tell a torn foot, for example, versus the splitting process? If it is an injury, anything I can do? Thanks for any help.

My bta inflates and deflates on a daily basis, so I would say its normal. Ive never seen an anemone split so I couldn't answer that for you.

I have tried squirting some brine shrimp and marine cuisine near it that it seems to get. Do I need something chunkier/meatier? Has anyone had any success with thawed frozen shrimp from the grocery store? (The "local" fish store is quite a drive for me, so I was going to try that until I can get there this weekend perhaps.)

i feed mine frozen shrimp all the time. i thaw them out first. make sure they are small enough and get a 1 liter bottle and cut the end of it and cap it off when you feed it(my fish and shrimps like to rip it out) i wouldn't be too worried. its cleaning itself when it inflates and deflates.
