ive always wanted a bubble tip, but looking at pictures, im confused
normally(and what i like)the anemone has the tentacles all puffed up at the base then thinner at the tips, but sometimes in pictures and usually at my LFS, they have thin long tentacles like LTA, what causes this or are they just miss labeled?
by thinner, i do not mean shriveled, i mean just not as short and puffy like i expect

what i meant is if i purchase one at my LFS with the long thinner tentacles, will they possibly puff up? or will they always look thin and long?
is it like inflatting and deflating, or just how they will always look?

I have heard of some of the BTAs that live in deeper depths with less light have the long thinner tentacles. The ones closer to the light on reefs have the sought after bubble appearance.
It may inflate with the right lighting(I don't know what lighting you LFS has) but I wouldn't get it if you really want the "normal" puffed bubble looking BTA.
Here is an article that I found on Wikipedia about the difference in BTA's apperance:
"In the wild, Bubble Tip Anemones are found in two locations. Large specimens, with tentacles that are more streaming or stringy, are often found in deeper waters with more dimly lit conditions. These specimens are often solitary. Smaller specimens are often located in groups or colonies, nearer to the surface, in bright sunlight. These specimens tend to show the bulbous tips on their tentacles that are characteristic to Bubble Tip Anemones. Although there are various theories about why some Bubble Tip Anemones develop these tips and some do not, it is widely believed that the bulbs are related to the light level in the anemone's habitat; specimens given more light are believed to have bubble tipped tentacles."
Hope this helps.

in case it helps: i bought a bubbletip at my LFS that was kept in low light conditions, when viewing it at the store it did not have the "bubbles" you want it to have; once home and under my T5HO's, after about a week when it finally got acclimated it did 'bubble up". it may have been liek this at the LFS and just not fully inflated but this may give you an idea at least

i was reading a magazine that advertized another online company and they had a BTA and they said that it extends its tentacles and thins them out when its hungry and once fed, they will bubble up, not sure if its true, but its what they advertized
