Bubble Trouble

I’m getting a lot of micro bubble in my DT from my sump. I’m not sure that is has a true bubble trap see the picture below. What can I use to reduce or eliminate the bubbles? I was thinking some sort of sponge between the baffles.

Try running the return pump from the left side and drain the DT to the right side with skimmer in the right also,

I have the same sump/refuge robo. I have my return pump on the left and it drains from my o-box to the right, which is the refugium. Couldn't fit the other equipment in the right side so I made the refug a little smaller on the right side. I have no prob with micro bubbles at all. The problem I'm having is with too strong of a flow from the drain line and it's kicking up sand in my refuge. In hindsight, should have built my own sump/ref, but hey live and learn. I replumbed it this weekend and put a ball valve on the return but it still seems to be too strong. Still trying to figure that out. May try a sponge of some sort myself.
