Hate to break it to you, haha
Ive seen that guys thread and he has a massive equipment room with huge sumps and fuges so the total system/water volume is about 4000gl. main tank about 1900g.
sq. inches divided by 231 = gls.
Lts. x .26 = gls.

I have seen the thread too. It is "alan reef" tank right? He built a special room out of brick, grow out tanks, and everything. He spent allot of time,money and effort on that project. IMO it looks wonderful, and it makes jealous I cant have a huge tank too. He has pics of him, and his kids in the tank doing the plumbing. Its aw-some!

Did you read the thread? you're like "naw my friends tank is 13ft long, so that 17ft long tank must be smaller?" :notsure:

ok, sorry. Didn't think you would take it that hard. Sheesh... Why don't you find out the exact dimensions so we can figure it out, ok? Until then, I don't believe that 4 more feet in length makes up for the fact that the 1400 gallon in my post is AT LEAST twice as tall. And if we were talking about SYSYEM size, not TANK size, then fine., That 1400 gallon tank is on a 3400 gallon system.

17' = 204"
5' = 60"
3' = 36"
231 sq. in per gl.
204 x 60 x 36 = 440640 sq. in. div. 231 = 1907.5 gls.

No that'd definaltey around 3 ft tall...look at the one with the guy standing next to it comming out of the back of the truck...
Pretty close to the top of the guys head...considering he's maybe 6ft tall at most..it's about half his size....could be 3ft. :thinking:

No matter what you say.... If the height is 3 feet, the depth is not 5 feet. And if the depth is 5 feet, the height definitely is not 3 feet. Choose one.
