Buffers

I have been reading through my test kit and it doesn't say when Buffers should be added to water. It came with a dropper of Buffer but it doesn't explain how to use it. Can anyone help me in knowing when it is right to add buffers. Is it smart to add Buffer when the water change is made after the cycle?

What type of buffer are you wanting to add, and what are your levels of pH, alk, Ca.
Typically the only buffer you want to add are Ca and maybe alk, but unless you have a reef that is consuming a lot of these, water changes should keep the levels of your tank just fine.
