Buffing scratches out of acrylic?

Ok so I am finally pretty much done scraping this hellish algae off the tank and now I have to get ready to buff out the numerous scratches. Since the tank is pretty large and there are a bunch of scratches, I was thinking about buying or renting an electrical buffer to use with the scratch removing kits. Anyone ever use an electrical buffer with a fish tank? Any recommendations? Also, what scratch removers have you found to work the best? Thanks for any opinions offered.

I used Novus on my 225g acrylic when I purchased it! They have different bottle types for the type of scratch. I would check out Novus 1,2 and 3. It works great!
