I have these very small (about 1/2 a millimeter) off white bugs or something crawling on the glass of my tank....can anyone help me out with what they are? And is it a bad thing?

When I first started my reef tank I had those same bugs....and all I had in the tank at the time was LR and LS. I didn't do anything about them and they eventually dissapeared.

Not bugs..they are tiny crustaceans that are beneficial to your tank's bio-diversity.referred to in the hobby simply as 'pods' there are several types. The ones that look like a small curled shrimp are amphipods, the ones with legs out to the sides{they look sort of like a roach} are a type of isopod, the ones that swim around aimlessly are mysis shrimp{their eyes will also glow at night if you shine a flashlight on them},and the ones that look like a speck..and they kind of flit around..are copepods.
