Building 500g.....Acrylic width needed

I am currently making plans on building a 500g plywood tank, very similar to novice150's tank.....(A cube with 3 plywood sides and one viewing window)......The tank will be 60 inches long, 60 inches wide, and 35 inches high.....I was just wondering what width of acrylic will i need....I was going to go with 1"...Will that work? I figure the bowing shouldn't be too much considering that neither the length or hieght of the viewing window is very lengthy.....Thanks for your help

With a closed top, a 35 x 60 panel would need to be 1.107 inches thick.

Go to the bottom of the page, you can get an Excel Spreadsheet that will do the calculations for you. Much easier than the formula.
