Building a sump/refuge

I know I've seen this asked before, but I can't find the thread despite looking for it for quite a while. So if you know where it is, please point me in the correct direction.
I would like to take a 75 gallon glass tank and turn it into a sump/refuge for my 150 gallon tank. The dimensions fit perfectly under my tank, and it would give me a nice refuge size. But....
How do I cut the hole for the return pump? And what kind of plumbing do you use to keep it from leaking?
I'm thinking if I get a submergable pump then my problems are solved.... right?

You can either get a diamond hole saw and drill it, it get a glass shop to drill it for you, or get a submersible pump. You would need a bulkhead to seal up the hole and connect the pump externally.

Thanks... I think I answered my own question with the submersible pump as a solution. I just got overwhelmed at the local home depot with all the guys looking at me like I was nuts for wanting to plumb my own tank.
