What building material should I use to create a custom hood/Canopy? I want something that is fairly simple, could be glued, maybe screwed together...The material will need to by about 8-10 inches higher than the tank.
I'm thinking I will rest a 150 MH pendant on top through a cutout and then leave the backside wide open...I'm thinking with the heat generated, you need to be carefull what material is used to avoid melting...I want the MH on the outside of the canopy to hopefully help heating issues...
I've thought about building a wall around the top of the tank and just using a Coralife hangon...But I would rather rest a pendant on top...(aqua medic, Ice berg, hamilton or something)...
Hanging the pendant isn't an option because it's in the kitchen on table. I also want to minimize light leak to the sides which I can't stand so I want the wall around it...
I've thought about Retrofit kits and putting halides inside the canopy, but I'm worried about heat issues...Pendant sitting on top of the canopy seems like best option...Maybe put a fan on side of canopy...
Help me please, before I end up buying 2X40 Orbit PC and then attempting acros in the future...I have a 46 I'm running also, but I want a cool little setup to grow out CRAZY frags and stuff that I can admire while eating dinner!!
