Building Or Buying A skimmer?

Ok let me know what is the best way to go need a skimmer for a 55gal tank whats the best and is it reasonable to build one let me have it ...

for a 55 G I would suggest "buy"
you can get a decent skimmer from $70 - $100 for that size
but if you think you gonna upgrade your tank to some thing larger like 125+ in the future
I would invest in a bigger skimmer cost a from $150-$200
