building rock wall

Hi
I am in the process of building up my reef wall with more live rock. My question is: is it ok to lean my rock up against the back glass. Right now I have a little back alley. I am afraid of creating stagnant water areas. 55 gal tank
Thanks

I have mince leaning against my back glass. If you are worried about creating low flow areas put a small powerhead behind your rock work.

I have two reefs and have it both ways and both are fine. Its just whatever looks best to you.........circulation is the key to the one that has the rock against the glass........

I have a tank that is not so wide front to back (55 gal rectangular), so my rock has to lean on the back wall for there to be swimming space in the front. I have two powerheads that work the back -- one low and one higher on oppposite ends of the tank. A third powerhead is in the middle of the tank and goes over the rockwork. Everybody seems to like it.
