Building Tank

I am going too build a large tank. At first it was 8*2*2 but then I got some glass prices, and it is so expenseive. So now I'm going with a 7*3*1.5. I know its low but I like the look.
I measured my liverock on my current and it doesn't get any higher then that mark. So I was hoping to get some feed back on glass thickness. Would I get away with 10mm or go with safty and 12mm.
I also want to build a stand and I have heard that glass tanks only need support on the edges and some brace across the bottom. Is this correct?

How do you seal the wood? Is that glass on the inside of it and is it thinner then it would normally be or did you apply some special coat to make it water proof?
It looks good, what are the dimensions.

Sealing the wood is no problem. Depending on the size of tank you want to build, you may want to look at fiberglassing the inside of the tank first. Then after fiberglassing, you apply a couple layers of 2 part epoxy.
There a plenty of people on this board who have done this same thing. Just fire off any questions you have, and you'll get plenty of answers.

I'm not the best fibreglasser, The tank of the size I'm thinking of might need fibreglassing. What about putting a thinner sheet of glass in the tank to seal it against the wood and have the front piece at the 12mm.
