Building your own tank

Just wondering if anyone has built their own tank. I remember seeing one someone had made several years ago but I have know idea how it was constructed. I don't think that the stand and hood would be to hard but I have no idea how to put the glass together, how thick the glass needs to be.....
By the way, this BB has been a big help for me. Just reading the posts that are already out there usually answer my questions. Thanks to all.

Verboten = forbidden. I went to the site for a quick look and it looks like a good info site on tank building. I did not have a chance to take a close look at it yet. Thanks for the help.
