I do not have a bulb anemone. I am just interested in acquiring one. I do not wish to get one if it will be starved. I am curious if anyone knows what kind of lighting they require for their food source. (how many watts per gallon) A second question is if anyone knows of how much it might eat if squirting filter food for them. Thank-You for your help.

the lighting depends on the dimensions of your tank. you will need either individual reflected T5s or halides. as for the feeding I feed mine cut up silversides soaked in vitachem and selcon. you probably should wait on someone else to chime in for the feeding. I just recently bought mine.

Your advice sounds good to me salt210. I also feed my bta small pieces of raw shrimp, squid, scallops and mysis shrimp. These pieces are no bigger than its mouth. I feed it two to three times a week.
Before you buy one make sure your tank is mature enough, as in a established tank that haven't had any die off for months. Usually it takes 6 to 8 months for a tank to be mature enought to handle the bio load of an anemone.

right on. I would really like to get one. I have a standard 55g tank with a 48in. long X13 in wide X 28 in deep. I have the 260 watt light system with actininc, flouresent and led lighting. Is this enough? I want them to get enough lighting. I was thinking of placing the "foot" in a pvc pipe about 1 and 1/2 inches then pulling it up high next to my highest rock. Could this work?

sounds like its a PC system if so, you are going to want to upgrade. I believe the 55g tanks are 18in high. as for "placing" it is going to move to find a spot where it is happy. I had mine placed on a rock high up in the tank and it has moved to a spot where its attached to the overflow and almost hidden from view

hmmm.... do you think that a combonation of my type of lighting and feeding it individualy would work?
