bulb ?

on another wbsite they sell a retro kit that comes with 4300k bulb is this any good or just an algae builder. you can opt for the 12k bulb for twice the price. any info would be great

typically 6.5k is the lowest you would use. Probably want to opt for the 12k. In the 4's wouldn't provide much useable light for corals. Ofcourse, it would provide the light needed for algae as you stated.
I don't have much experience with the lower kelvin bulbs, but I also couldn't imagine it looking too good. Probably have quite a yellow tank.

Yep I think with that color temp it would be but ugly yellow. I would recomend the 10k ushios as a stand alone system or the iwasaki 6500s with some Vho sups.
