Where do I start. About 3 weeks ago I notice that my temp was swinging too much as my wife was keeping the air too cool at night. so I put in a heater in my sump. Two days later my heater shorted out and it overheated my tank. one daisy polyps loss, not too bad. Put in a brand new heater and added a big digital temp so I can use the alarm mode. I figure I was doing ok and then the Ick started in my kole tang. After doing a lot of reading here about Ick I decided to let it ride and just start using garlic and got a cleaner wrasse. At the same time I added a bicolor to my other tank and my yellow tang went at him the second i place him in the tank, so I panic and put the yellow tang in my reef to save the bicolor. So the yellow tang got ick a couple days later. So 2 days ago I could not find my cleaner wrasse MIA (he must have die ang got eaten) I got home a couple of hours ago and found my kole dead. Took him out did a water change and I'm just sitting here depress as hell. My remaining fish all have ick. I had just started to set up a hospital tank but I don't think I can get my fish out with all the corals and LR. It sucks all my fish look like crap. I guess I'm just PO after all the hard work for my tank to go to crap in a couple weeks. I just started using reef solutions I guess is soupose to be good for the fish as well for the corals. we'll see. I tought I was going to feel better after typing this but is not working! Thanks for listening to my frustations.

Sorry to hear about the problems in your tank.......twice now heaters have cost me big time.......first was a excellent frogspawn....second time was a hammer that I had searched months for ........never had a major ick out break(just a minor one)...but I do dose garlic once a week now to keep it at bay...........I'd feel just as bad as you obviously do if mine went to hades also..........
:(

HI! Sorry about your loss. Iam a true beliver in treating ick with garlic, we had a major outbreak in our 200gal, it is kinda hard to catch all the fish so once again I went to the garlic method, when it gets close to feeding time, I take what ever I'm feeding that night and pour in garlic juice(I buy garlic in a jar already choped in its own juices)and let it soak for about 15 minutes, within 3 days all most all ick was gone..You don't want to use garlic for more than 4 days in a row though because it will cloud your tank...I'm a true believer, it works..Later Lisa
