The ONLY way to get that light "shimmer" is to use MH, or are there any other tricks of the trade?

I pointed out MH as a shimmer source because I know of no other useful point source lighting for reefs.

You can get somewhat of a ripple effect by using a high gloss white background.
No where near the effect as mentioned above though.
