ok, I started my fragging carier the other day but I was using my display tank. I'm starting with mushrooms and placing them in a low current corner of my 75 gal. They still move around a little but it adds a lot of stress. So comes the frag tank. I have a 20 gal long that will be perfect.
My question is this: Working with corals such as mushrooms, can I keep the simple hood sold at pet shops and run a powerglo bulb?
My guess is this. They will grow under that night but will grow a lot better if you have something a little stronger. I would move to ice caps.

corals need 2 things. light and water quality as basics. They we get into things like flow.
You need a light. Buy a used one or get some retro.

just understand you will not be able to fit 4x110w bulbs. you will only be able to fit 24" bulbs. at 75w a piece thats 300w over a 20L. you can keep LPS and all softies with that.
