buying anemones of the net????

ok im lookin to get a rose bubble tiped anemone and my lfs charges $340 for a small one and the sell for as less as 49.99 on the internet
is it safe to but them on the internet has anyone before? is it doing good?
what site should i get it off of?
just ofr the heck of it dose anyone have pics of anemones they bought over the net???

I bought a bta off of this site. It is doing great. Actually, everything I have got here has been nice. Sorry I don't have a pic.

340??? :scared: is that thing gold plated? for that price it better be i have never baught anything from the net before when it comes to my tanks 340 bucks is rediculous even if you do order from the internet id also concider a new LFS they are upping prices way out there

I know it's good to support local suppliers, but that's just nuts!
This site has always gotten good reviews, so it'd probably be a safe bet.

I have a BTA that I got from SWF.com. He's doing great so I believe you should be fine with the RBTA.

Don't pay that much. I just bought one from my lfs for 80 dollars friday. That is expensive, but he is as big as a softball. i could have bought a small one(like the size of a pool ball) for 40. Keep looking, or you can e-mail me, and i will go pick you one up at my lfs, and ship it to you. my email is chrishagan@gforcecable.com

I have had this bta for almost 2 months now and I am afraid he isnt healthy. Please give me an informed opinion.

at night he tends to wither away into nothing and I think he is dying. In the morning I check on him and he looks fine. I know that anemones are strange things. Hard to judge! I guess I am just being paranoid. Thanks for the encouragement. I get nervous about this tank and its inhabitants. Like most of you, I have many hours invested in this tank and, I try never to worry about the money I have into this tank. My nitrates, ph, salinity, temperature and everything else are all ideal but, I still worry!!!!!!!!!! Man, maybe I should consider a new hobby without so much stress LOL!!!!!!

Wow $340!!! I thought 150 was high at a lfs. I did pick up 2 RBTAs at an lfs for $25 ea. they were small, about 1-2" but are growing nicely.
i also bought a BTA from this site. It is doing fine after 2 months. The tips aren't inflated, but otherwise doing ok and now the ocellaris clowns are hosting. Maybe the tips will swell up in the future.
Also I might add that I have been very happy with ordering from this site. I find they are better than those two doctors. Not that I am disappointed with those guys either, but the prices are better here and so are the shipping charges.
And I am not saying this site is great just because it is true, but I am also saying it so I don't get censored as harshly as the rest of you guys.
