you mentioned the ---- vendor for your lights--if you have a 20 gal long tank, are your lights the 11" wide set? do you have that much room? We have a 37 gal tank which measures the same as our 20 gal long and it looks like there is only 9" of width avail on top due to filter,etc. Can you en"light"en me? Tanks

good question =) mine is 47" long. my 20g long is 30"l. i have a 10g right beside that is 18"l. i bought it originally to use for a 40g long that is 48", that i planned on setting up later when i got the room for it.

oops, i think i misread your question. you are asking about width huh? from front to back? hold on a sec and i'll try to find out what you are asking....

It measures about 47" long x 8 1/2" wide and 2 1/4" high. judging by that, i'd say my 20l is 12" wide. i'm not at home right now or i would measure it out. i could have really gotten away with one 11 inches with no probs. the skilter doesn't take up that much room in the back.

edit: i just remembered, my 20l is 30x12x12. (i think=)

thanks--that width thing was what I was interested in--I e-mailed the seller on that e-bay site and hopefully he will have an answer for me--our tank could manage the 8.5 wide light but not really the 11--due to it being 12 inches deep and some clearance is needed for the filter, etc.
