ok im getting ready to install my home made cal reactor. does anyone here have any experience with a cal reactor. what should i expect? any info will help. i got tired of dosing. anyone have any usefull info?

Be patient and make small adjustments, then wait at least 24 hours before making test of effluent then if needed make another small adjustment. Mine works best if i keep a steady bubble count (CO2) and adjust the water flow coming out of the reactor, but it took a few weeks to start seeing my calcium readings in my tank to go up. Be patient.

Yes, mine is around 8.1 during daytime peak and to 7.9 at night, but all corals are growing like weeds, This seems to be the norm for everyone I know running reactors.

AGREED my PH is at the 7.9-8.1 with no ill effects. the key is patience. IMO, the best way to keep steady flow in the reactor is to tap into your return for your water supply.
