Calcium Levels

I have heard that the proper clacium level is needed to grow coraline algea. By using activated carbon in my wet/dry filter, is the carbon removing the calcium from the water?
Thanks.

I agree. Carbon will not remove your CA.
Orby, what lfs do you go to? I live in Little Chute, not too much around to choose from, huh!

For coralline algae, pH level, alkalinity, and calcium should all be at desirable levels. Plus a good amount of circulation will help. Dripping Kalkwasser is the best, but there are other ways such as Kent's Probuffer dKH. It works for me and I just add a capful every morning. It takes a little time, so be patient! HTH--Bob
