Calcium Reactor and pH controller questions

I'm going to upgrade my CaRx to a GEO618 from a Reef Octopus CR-140. I never got around to even using the Reef Octopus because it always leaked and it's made of pretty shotty materials and I've snapped a union on the thing twice trying to get it water tight. I have a Milluakee (sp?) pH controller but I think I might get a Reef Keeper Lite for the monitoring capabilities.

1) Should I use the pH probe that comes with the RKL inside the reactor and just scrap the Milluakee one or should I use the Milluakee pH controller inside the reactor and the RKL in the sump? The first option seems the right one to me...

2) I have no coral yet, but I'm adding roughly 20 frags next month. Should I fire up the reactor then or wait? Like, is it possible to overdose a system with calcium and alk using a reactor?

I've decided not to go with a tank controller yet. I have the milwaukee pH controller and that should be fine for now.
