eventually the corals and inverts will use up the calcium. u dont hv to dose ur tank w calcium if u do water changes 1x every 2 weeks. u only need to dose if u hv lots of calcium demanding species like sps.

If it gets way too high. somewhere between 460-500 then it will precipitate out of the water and look like a snow storm in the tank. Burning corals. remember this is the same stuff we spackle aptasia with to kill it. Its quite a mess from what I hear.
