calcium testing

I have a 55g and I am putting 10ml a day of seachem calcium in my tank. When I test using the salifert test, it says that my level is so low it is off the chart. Am I using too much calcium? Is the test I'm using useless for seachem calcium? My corals and polyps are open more now than ever. Something is going right for a change, but for some reason I can't measure the calcium level. I don't want to switch to kalkwasser!

I have had good luck with the seachem calcium-before buying a new test kit(here I go again being "cash concientious") can you take a sample to your lfs and have them test it first.

This is one of the problems to the T that I have encountered. But, like you, everything looks great. I have oftened wondered if I'm close to the saturation point. I have no idea at this. It seems to me like 10ml a day is alot depending on what's in your tank. I use 1 capful twice a week in my 75 gallon and 1 capful a week of Reef Complete. Do you suppose I'm not using enough?

Yes I believe my lfs will test calcium, I'll give them a call. A cap full is approx 5ml. I guess that is probably enough once you've got your levels up.. I'll let you know what I find out. Thanks
