Calcium...Too High??

I just did a water test this A.M. The readings were as follows...Ammonia 0, Nitrate 5,
Nitrite 0.1 and the Calcium was 560. The booklet says it should be between 400 - 450. How do we lower it or is this an okay reading? What kind of problems can occur with a high calcium reading?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated...Thanks!

Imo I would take a water sample in to the local lfs and get a second test verifacation on the reading and go from there..

i would just slow my doses of calcium down a bit and figure out where you need to dose to keep it where you want it. just test it each day to see how much you are losing at what rate and then add when it gets low in smaller doses. (no, i don't think your sig is too long. some people just have gotten overboard lately)

The only thing we add to our tank is fish food and phytoplex for our two corals (flower leather & green mushrooms). We don't add any other supplements.

I had the same problem, but then I was told my a LFS owner that the sea salt I use, ReefCrystals, contains supplements such as calcium, iodide, etc. So, if you have nothing that will use up calcium, then the calcium will remain, or if you do have things that use up calcium you may do a lot of water changes, but I'm assuming you use a salt mix that contains supplements, and you are at a point at which you have nothing to remove calcium.
