calcium

i can't get my calcium above 280. about a month ago it was staying right around 400. the tank parameters are as follows: 29G, PH 8.1, Ammo. 0, trites. 0, trates. 0, and Alk. 2.4. Is there anything i can do to get the calcium back up. My corraline algea is turning red or lighter purple on some rocks. I have a lot of shrooms, and a milky leather, but i'm pretty sure the leather isn't using up the calcium. i use reef evolution kalk to keep the calcium up. it worked for about 2 and a half months, but has just stopped working. any help would be appreciated.

I really like Kents Turbo Calcium, it is kind of tricky on how much to use so if you decide to use it talk to your LFS about it. I really like it, it really keeps the hair algea down and I am noticing a lot more coraline algea growth.

Not sure about the kalk addition you use...but its been my experience that kalk will (among other things) stabalise and "maintain" established levels of calcium.
Based on that I use a combination of seachem products to build levels of calcium/alkalinity...plus a regular dose of kalk to maintain desired levels. You may need to do a couple of things...
Look into elevating your alk...as stated they do need to be maintained same as calcium and calcium/alkalinity/ph do work off of each other.
You may need to add calcium in some form other than kalk to elevate your current levels and continue kalk to maintain those levels.
