I was bored last night after "lights out" and snapped some shots of my female ray hunting in the sand bed.

And after a hard night of hunting, whats better than curling up next to your "buddy" to get some rest?

PRetty sweet. Hey, how big do they get? Im thinking that since i have alot of surface space in my tank (120) that i could have one, but do they move around a lot? Do they stay small? How much $$$? Thanx Gas.

They get about 18" and are very active. I would need your measurements for your tank, but I think it will be too small. A cotez ray (urobatis maculatus) would be a better bet. They stay much smaller.

You know, Im not really sure where you can get them. That tank would be OK I think provided you dont have any rockwork. If I remember right, track down leopard babe- she has one.

There's a place in Romulus, Michigan called Tropicorium. They have a website and you can probably guess the address, but I'm not going to post it. I think they had about 100 last spring. They had 5 or 6 this weekend when I was down there.

I live in CT, so.... Yea, my tank has a nice cave in the middle with little caves branching off. I think itll be nice for a small ray.
Spotted Stingray - Urobatis halleri
Also known as: Round Ray
The Urobatis species grows up to 10.5 inches. The Spotted Stingray prefers a tank of at least 130 gallons with plenty sandy areas to bury itself in. The Spotted Stingray is a carnivore and likes to eat variety of chopped fish, clams, shrimp, squid. The Spotted Stingray is a high maintenance fish and should not be placed in a tank containing Triggers, Puffers, or other aggressive species. This is one of the hardier species of ray's available. Not reef-safe. Sharks & rays should never be exposed to copper-based medicine. Will be shipped 7 - 14 inches. Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F). The Spotted Stingray is commonly collected from the Pacific Ocean.
Would this be good ya think?
