Calm Fish Combinations

On these boards, I tend to read many opinions of the type of fish people would like to use in their tanks.
My Question is this:
As a standard setup of about 5 fish, what kind would you put together that would be calm and live in harmony together?

I have yet to buy my larger tank. Money is an issue at the moment. I would think in a month or 2 I should be ok.
I have looked around at some tanks, but many are not big enough for saltwater.
I saw an impressive tank costing $2400. It was massive, I can not recall the size however. Water changes would be a nightmare .
On one of the larger tanks how do you manage to do a 20% water change? Do you have storage drums or something of that nature?
