What are the best settings to take pictures with a digital camera?

I just use mine on auto, but turn OFF my flash and use a tripod.

I use the close up ( flower on the dail ) for close ups and put the camera right on the glass to stablize it. And for full tank shots I still have not figured best way to do them. Just a shot in the dark, you could say

what do i do if the resolution on my pics are too high?? the forum will only allow us to post 500x500 pics, and mine are well over 1000.

After you load them into your computor you should be able to resize them in your photo program. I have adobi photoshop 7. look for " image " on top and click and should be an option to resize. Some programs are crap and you loose alot of quality so I hope you have a good one.
