I am looking at the Panasonic DMCLZ7K 7.2MP 6xOptical Zoom
My current camera is the Sony 3.2MP 3x Optical Zoom
I would like to know if I would notice a big difference from what I am currently using now??

my sister bought that same camera and has had nothing but trouble with it...she is fighting with panasonic right now to get her money back. It has great specs but I would stay away from it....way bad shutter lag on motion pics.

I think the panasonic has a Intelligent ISO Control and a better zoom. The panasonic lets you use more manual setting which IMO gives you better images. The MP don't really matter IMO. I hope this helps

I don't know how much the panasonics cost, but you can get a nice little olympus that takes nice shots. I think paid under 200 bucks for an FE-230 (7.1 MP) that I used to take some fish photos and also that my wife likes to use as her club camera/girl night out camera, because it is small enough to fit into a very very small purse. You can get them at circuit city/best buy.

I think one of the newer Sony's or the camera that a lot of professional photographers like for a point and shoot is the Fuji FinePix F30. Nice little camera, I want one... I get tired of packing around my professional cameras... A Nikon D2X with good glass on it weighs 10 pound or more.
