Camera question

Hi all, I'm looking at cameras to replace my Fuji if it is going to cost to much to have fixed.
Does anyone have any experience with the Sony Cyber-shot?
Over all what is the best camera for the money?

Its a Fujifilm FinePix 1400zoom, its been a very good camera, my hubby gave it to me as a gift several years ago. Only has 1.3 mps, but photos have always been real nice.
The camera was dropped and a clip inside that holds the lenscover back broke, now I need to hold the cover to take a photo, it sometimes makes it kinda hard to get a good shot. I'm having a very hard time getting in touch with Fuji, so I'm very put out with thier customer service, I've e-mailed about 8 times and still have not recieved a response.
The Sony we are looking at has 5 mps, not to bad of a price, 449.00, but I haven't heard of a Sony camera, if thier cameras are as good as thier tvs then I would be very pleased with it.
We're going looking tomorrow, so if anyone know anything about these I would be forever grateful! Thanks! Lisa

I have an older sony camera that is less than 1 mp and I love it - I have used a lot of sony's products and have been thinking about getting another sony digi cam - the issue is you need to buy their memory sticks as opposed to other types of memory cards .... so if I don't get a sony I have 88 megs of memory sticks and no where to use them ... overall I am really pleased with the camera and I would buy one again.

Thanks overanalyzer, I figureed it would be a good camera, all the sony products we have bought have been well worth the $$.
I was going to order it off line, but hubby wants to go to the store and look.
Someone told me sony was behind everyone in the camera bizz, I really didn't believe it, especially after looking at the list of features this one has. Too cool, can't wait to get it and play some...Lisa

Got it! Sony Cyber-shot , 5mps ,3 x zoom ,Mpeg movie, smart zoom. Waiting for the batteries to charge to try and figure it out.
Cool thing is when we want to take it in water they make a case that you can buy that the camera goes into so you can use it under water...Lisa

overanaliyzer, yep, they are finished, AI've been playing with it for the last hour trying to get the settings right. I'll post a couple I have that has turned out ok, most of my coral photos looked crappy, I got a so so one of my halfblack angel, and one looking outside from my dinning room.
