I got a a green bta yesterday and tried feeding him some mysis and a silverside today
does the bta actually grab the food from stick or do you have to hold it there because i held it above him andhe didnt grab it
is he just still adjusting to the new surroundings and not hungry
should i try to feed him tomorrow?

Exactly right. He is in a new enviroment and now adjusting for the next two weeks. He is now getting used to the new water chemistry, and is acclimating to a new set of lighting. give him a few days and try again. You may also find that he will not except any food if he is getting ready to move, or at least has less sticky tentacles.
