Can a carpet anemone eat pods?

My carpet has his stomach out alot lately. Looks healthy otherwise.
Its been 5 days since i fed him. I noticed his poo was black and slimy.
I'm wondering if its eating pods. I see it spits out what looks like dead pods. Now its a clump of poo..
I have a bunch in my tank right now.
Also sometimes it expands real big and then goes back in his stalk a while later .
I'm thinking maybe its tired from expanding so much.

Yeah it could eat pods, but what bothers me is the possible rate that your carpent might be excreating! This could lead to a water quality problem. Also lets hope that it is not excreating its zooxanthellae. Watch him to make sure that he is retaining his color and not loosing it.
