Can a coral banded shrimp regrow an arm??

Hi there, the other day I noticed my Coral Banded Shrimp fighting w/ a hitchhicking crab. (big nasty black crab). Well I couldt break it up in time. Well I noticed afterwards my CB shrimp's left arm was broken and bent behind his head!! It went hunting for the black crab, which resluted in a chop stick sized hole through its body. Now for my question: The arm is still there, broken. Will he shed the busted arm and grow a new one?? Oh yeah its one of the big red and white claws. Well thanks for the info.

well, it kind of depends on his size, but it should be a few weeks. someone in my tank periodically clips my cleaner shrimps' antennae, and within a couple of weeks the antennae usually grow back.

Can emerald crabs regrow the appendage with the claw on it as well? I noticed one of my crabs was missing a arm the other day, ouch.

my coral banded got its arm riped off!!!!! and the arm grew back instantly one night after sheeding in about 2 weeks add some iodine to your tank for him to do it faster they shed a whole lot faster with it or mine does.

You need to be careful adding iodine to your tank because if you overdose it you will kill fish. My girlfriend had a coral banded that lost both arms during a shed. After about two weeks one arm is beginning to regenerate, it takes time but his arm will eventually grow back.ryan's reef
