can a trigger and a lion go together

I would say get a dwarf lion, and a small trigger, which ever one you decide to get, and keep in mind that eventually, say in the next two years, the trigger will most likely need a bigger tank, depending on how fast he's growing. I have a dwarf lion, and a clown trigger in an 80G; and do plan on getting a 240 in the next couple years.

I HAVE HAD A NICE SIZE LION WITH A SMALL HUMA HUMA AND THEY DID JUST FINE. NO LR. I ONLY HAD THE LION FOR 4 MONTHS BUT IT WORKED. I WOULD SAY A LION AND TRIGGER OF ANY KIND WOULD BE GREAT IN A 75. LIKE THE OTHER GUY SAID IN TIME YOU WOULD NEED A LARGER TANK.
ARE YOU NEW TO THE HOBBY? IF SO, THEN I BET IN LESSS THAT A YEAR YOU MAY GO A DIFFERENT ROUTE. I THINK IT TAKES ABOUT A YEAR TO REALLY GET A GOOD COMBINATION OF FISH FOR YOUR TANK. I AM ONLY 4 YEARS INTO IT AND I AM STILL LOOKING FOR GOOD ADDITIONS TO MY 150G. I TRADE LIKE CRAZY. SOME TIMES THATS THE FUN OF IT. ESPECALLY IF I SEE A FISH THAT I JUST GOTTA HAVE. THAT IS WHY THE LION HAD TO GO. GOOD LUCK

I LOVE CLOWN TRIGGERS. I HAVE KNOWN THEM TO DO VERY WELL. I WISH I HAD ANOTHER TANK. I HAVE A FRIEND SALEIGN ONE THAT IS ABOUT 9 INCHES AND DEADLY. FOR ONLY $150. AT THAT SIZE YOU CANT BEAT THAT. HE USE TO BELONG TO SOME PRO FOOTBALL START. I THINK TERRY GLENN

Both fish are very hardy, but for the tnak size you have i would either get one or the other. Even if they are dwarf size they create large amounts of ammonia. I prefer a lionfish, i've had on in a 90 gallon tank for years(alone) and he is doing just fine. Good Luck

First of all Clown Triggers are my most favorite trigger; I certainly agree they are aggressive, but they are very colorful, very active, and just an awesome fish to have! They are extremely hardy fish, I have been told you can take them out of the water, stomp on them, put them back in and they will be FINE! IMO, the best thing about putting these two fish together (trigger w/ lion) is that they both can withstand less than perfect water; so, even if you do have some ammonia or nitrite, these fish can survive. Please do not misunderstand, you still have to keep the ammonia and nitrite in check by doing water changes and filter maintenance. Anyway, whatever you decide, have fun and enjoy! :)

i would definitely wait on the clown trigger, for the bigger tank, they really should go into at least a 135, beautiful fish, but hey gett up to 20 inches(and you want to plan on him being a 20 incher, even if he is only 5 or 6 when you buy him), and in a 75, this would be able to be your only fish, nayway, especially since the 75 is only 48 inches long, the fish would get to be almost half the length of your tank, for a 75, i would consider a different trigger, unless you ARE buying a larger tank in the next year, or the lion, another draw back to a clown, you can only put so many fish in a 75, and a clown as it matures, would make a snack out of anythign that you could fit in there, because all of your other fish would have to be smaller(much), but dwarf lion, you could have a couple of other fish the same size, just so long as they can't fit into his mouth(they can and probably will eat anything they can fit in)
