Anemones have no brain, they put out feelers that are sticky, any critter that it contacts, it stings and eats. If a hermit crab crawls on the anemone it will be eaten, only the shell wll be discarded.
That is the nature of the anemone, that some critters will become victims are the chances those who have them take. The anemone is not going to go hunting, it just waits.
