hyposalinity at what range? and how long do I keep them in there? and will the free floating ick cycle out of my main tank in that time?
And fishfreak, being a firefish, in my case means I have a lot of questions, not a lot of answers. I'm new to this.

luckily for me(this is stupid ot say, but you should know), but have seen it on others' fish and beth and terry have posted frequently about treatment, i have never had ot deal with ick, personally, i do know theer definitely is NO reef and invert safe cure that works more than marginally, hypo is best and safest fo the fish, but not safe for inverts, so you must quarentine mean while
but
1.009 is where you want to gradually lower your salintity to,and treat for 4 weeks, ick can live for up to almost 4 weeks, with out a host, so both go hand in hand, the treatment and the dying of ick in the tank should be 1 month

Lower salinaty over 3-4 days to 1.009 keep it there for 4 weeks. When the 4 weeks are up, raise the salinity SLOWLY over 1-2 weeks. Raising salinity slowly is key. Too fast and the fish will die.
