Yea I have a calcium test kit. Measure water - add chemical - add powder - add drops and multiply x15 the number of drops it takes to turn blue.
I can never figure this out. Blue??? there is no color chip to tell me how blue is blue and every drop makes it bluer! When do I stop. I need an easier test.
Also Here is what I test for:
Ammonium
Nitrite
Nitrate
PH
Salt
Phosphorus
Calcium (although I cant read the results.
Am I missing anything else?

Red sea calcium pro works well for me. Many will suggest salfiert but they are not readily available in retail outlets and from what I have seen the two kits are nearly identical to each other.

On those type tests there is a distinct color change from whatever to Blue or Purple or whatever end color goal. On Aquarium Pharmacuticals it goes from pink to blue on the magic drop. I find that brand very easy to use and inexpensive at about $5 online.
If your test is starting blue I would guess your Calcium is below the lowest number your kit tests for. I have a Red Sea kit that doesn't test below 200.

It goes in a slow progression but there is no clear change but rather darker shades of the same.

Let me quess you have the sea test kit? I agree the aquarium pharmacuticals test works pretty much the same way but has a color chip with the instructions and is alot easier to read accurately. basically once that single drop turns it from pink to purple, the next drop turns it blue.

I dont recommend you on buying the Red Sea test kit. It is very inaccurate.
