I caught this fish in the gulf of mexico near the rocks. can anyone tell me what it is??

i caught him in the south part of texas off of south padre island. way away from the oil spill. he was very slimy thats why i thought he was a rock fish. but now i have no clue.

Does it have some pretty gnarly teeth? It almost looks like some species of a wolf fish.

Granted, this one is in full display colors, as opposed to be super pissed laying on the rocks, but I am positive.
