Can Detritivores Carry Disease?

Hi.
Thanks to the Search feature and the great advice Beth and Terry have given on the topics of QT, disease and treatments I have been able to avoid disease in my main tank. I have recently added a refugium and wish to add more detritivores. I've read about people annually replenishing detritivores and wonder how people do it (those who QT everything that goes into their tanks). If you do a long drip acclimate will that replace all of the water from the source and then leave the pods and such ich/disease free? I'd imagine they wouldn't actually carry the disease but could it be in the water?
I hope I've worded this well. I'm just afraid of adding disease into my main tank. I plan to QT corals when I add them. After seeing various diseases on my quarantined fish I'm very glad that I didn't just "dump them in."
Thanks in advance.

Most places that actually sell detrivores do mix their filtration systems with fish systems. However, to be absolutely sure, doing a complete replacement of water from the bag with tank water during the acclimation process is wise.
