can green star polyps be removed

can green star polyps be removed from the live rock that they are on or will they be killed if they are removed. :notsure:
Wanting to rearrange rockwork but the way that i would arrange it the star polyps are on the back side of the tank.

actually you can thats how you frag them just take the whole mat thats stuck to the LR off and put it where you want it. rubberband it to the new rock so it wont go floating off. If you want to frag it just tear smaller pieces off of the big matt and put them whareever. hope that helps.

will they just pull off or will i have to scrape it off the lr.

I had to scrape mine off. It is spreading way to much. It's a pain in the butt.

Many LFS will take them as jsut a mat for credit if you don't want to frag them yourself.
