can I add fish?

I have a 20 H that has been cycling for about 3 months with a single yellow tailed damsel
my params are
ammonia-0
nitrate-0
nitrite-0.25
can I add another hardy fish like a clown?

I wouldnt add a fish until your nitrite is down to zero (do water changes) because it is toxic to fish.

Hmm...that's weird. According to what you wrote, your ammonia is 0, as well as your nitrATE. But, your nitrITE, is .25. That nitrite needs to be converted to nitrate, which can then be removed with water changes. Make sure everything is at 0 before you add any other fish. Did you say your tank took 3 MONTHS to cycle?? That's an awful long time. And, just out of curiosity, what brand of test kit are you using?

Take your water to an LFS and see what their tests show. You may have a faulty nitrite test.

yea....take your water to your lfs and see what they say because if you still have nitrite that means that there still some ammonia.
