Can I add these shrimp?

I have a 15g tall w/ a mated pair or True Percula clowns, and one neon goby. Right now I have 3 Blue Leg Hermits, and that's it for my cleanup crew. For some reason all of my snails died. Nitrite and ammonia 0, and nitrates I think 10-20. Could the nitrates have killed them? Anyways, I was wondering if I can add 2 peppermint shrimp and a cleaner shrimp to my tank? Thanks for your posts!

Hiya,
Yeap, you can add those shrimp to your tank.
Has the tank ever had copper in it? If so, this could be your reason for the dead snails.

Snails have a relatively short lifespan as it is--they may have died all on their own. :)

How short a life span? I had a hermit die in his shell, then a few weeks later, a hermit left his shell to die. I thought that was unusual.

Did the hermit have another shell available for him to go into?
Don't quote me on this, but I've heard snails only last a few months.

Hmm...it might depend on the kind of snail, too. I remember reading somewhere that snails were considered "expendable", lasting no more than a few months. That's great to hear yours are still alive after a few years. :)

No, I just setup the tank October 1, 2004. It's been awhile since they've died. I had three astrea snails, and two turbo snails. One just completely dissapeared out of its shell:confused: .
