can i cycle with live rock

well i have been lucky enough to befriend a owner of a lfs. he is moving his store to another state and is willing to sell me uncured marshall live rock for two dollars a pound. i was just wondering can i cycle my other 85 gallon tank with these live rock. i plan on using sand and keeping it as a fowlr tank. thank you

yes you can cycle your tank using uncured live rock,and that is a great deal, especially for marshall isles
even on line, fiji(which is cheaper) is at least 3 to 4 $ per lb(with shipping factored in)
