might sound stupid...
had sushi for dinner, it got me thinking... does anyone know if any corals are edible or eaten anywhere? i mean not that i want to eat one or anything ive just never heard of it and i mean maybe you actually can fry some up...

mmm.... fried BTA with a side of Acropora sounds real good.
i bet you would have to do some sort of cleaning proccess of most of them to clean out the stinging cells?

yeah, i thought about that, but i figured of all the thousands of kinds of corals out there, couldnt be ONE of them that was safe to eat? and i have a hard time believing no ones tried it before. lol. i wonder how it would turn out? what does coral taste like?

then wash it all down with some rotifers or phyotoplanktonand for desert a condi smothered in chocolate syrup

hopefully not his cousin ghonna lol. I heard that corals can carry ghonnarhea and cyphlis (sp?) is that true?

I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to try stony coral, considering they basically have a skeleton of limestone. Then there's always the toxin in zoas and palys....
I'd stick with the fish-based sushi.

Even if it were possible I dont think I could get past the smell. IDK about any of you but when I frag my corals, either zoa's, xenia, my leather... etc.. they have a nasty odor to them. Not rotten just not good... (insert vomiting smiley here)

. Knowing what boiling water does to aiptasia, anemone probably wouldnt work out too well.

I seem to remember that in some areas people will eat Jellyfish, I wouldn't be suprised if certain types of coral are eaten.
