Might be a dumb question. I bought a purple gorg yesterday and it is a wee bit too tall for my tank (20 long). For now I just have it tilted a bit so it's covered but I would prefer it to be standing straight up. Can I frag it and turn it into 2 shorter gorgs (after I give it time to relax obviously)?
Most Gorgonians are fraggable. That said, How about either a picture or an ID on exactly what type of gorgonian you are talking about. Stems on the photosynthetic types can be sniped off using scissors, the bottom of the stem cleaned off using wire strippers, and the stripped end glued into a hole in a piece of LF. The non photosynthetic ones are a little more difficult.
