Can I get a clean up crew now?

Hello everyone, I setup my tank about 3 months ago, i have two damsels and two clownfish in the tank right now. There is a lot of brown stringy looking algae. They aren't diatoms and they are pretty thick. I was wondering if a clean up crew could be put it in to help keep it under control? Thanks.

Hey,
Not a lot of info to go on. Do you have lr and or a dsb? Did you add everything at once three months ago?
Anyway, if you're cycle is complete and you're starting to see algae it's probably safe to add a clean-up crew. I'd recommend starting with about a 1/2 dozen turbo's and see how they do. Be careful how you acclimate snails since they are very sensitive to changes in SG. Once they've been happy and healthy for a couple weeks you can concider adding the full clean-up crew.
